Screenwriting & Storytelling Experience
For my MA in Writing, I have specialised in screenwriting and script editing, which involves writing a full television script and feature film, as well as full professional editing reports on script material.
My BA in English involved various Creative Writing modules taught by professional writers, including:
- Script Writing (treatments, outlines and scripts)
- Creative Writing Portfolio (feature length screenplay)
- Novel Writing (full novel plan and selected chapters)
- Prose Writing (short story & poetry)
Attended Charles Harris' "Exciting Treatments" one-day workshop (Sept. 2009) where I underwent professional tuition on advanced story structure, character development and the writing of script treatments and outlines. I also pitched projects to a number of people which helped develop my own and others' ideas.
Attended CBBC Q&A session on writing for children's television (June 2009) where I learnt what the BBC are looking for in children's screen fiction as well as the essential elements of writing for a young audience. This also provided an opportunity to network with other writers and discuss projects.
Attended Q&A session with Andrew Davies (October 2008) where his writing craft was discussed and an extensive look at novel adaptation was explored.
